Billed as "children's library in the world," International Children's Digital Library was founded in late 2002.
In early July 2012, there were 4,643 children's books in 61 different languages on the Internet at the website of the Library. According to Timothy Browne, director of the ECDL "The goal of the ECDL Foundation is a collection of books that build world today represented by the historical flow of books and the children, and they available on the internet." (30/12/06 ICDL press release). The focus is on sharing books, help you learn about life in other countries and cultures, the children and help them understand and appreciate the diversity in our world.
Use your computer - No separate eReader required
In contrast to other books, which may be accessed online, requires no eReader. You do not need to download books. Just search for and select the books you want and play online. There are books for small children to adults, to read books and to enjoy themselves for independent readers.Search and children's books read in the Library Website
Was created by the ICDL, much work has been done to ensure that the website is easy to navigate. The help page of the library provides guidance on the types of search can be performed (simple, advanced, location and keywords) as well as how to read you books. I was impressed by the specific form that your research in terms of age, fiction or nonfiction book length and many can do more.While researching, I was very pleased to have one of the books in the International Children's Digital Library is my favorite illustrated edition of The Secret Garden. I also found The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum and book series Mother Goose (read my article to find out why the mother goose the rules!)
While you do not need to register, to choose and read books, there are some advantages. Among other things, you can select the language you want to use. As of summer 2012, the books available (in order of preference for users of the library) in the following languages: English, Spanish, Arabic, Persian, Chinese (simplified), French, Mongolian, Chinese (Traditional) Croatian, Portuguese, Hebrew , German, Filipino, Russian, Thai and Italian. You can also choose and select books for your personal library. If your child start a book, but stop reading before the end of the book, you can ICDL return later and pick up where you left off.

This includes advice on the behavior of the digital age for the story of a group of children and a Savenger game to help children learn their way around the site.Section lists of websites ICDL shows thematic collections of books for children around the world, information about each book and a series of related activities. Exhibitions: celebrate differences, the removal of the fence! (Overcoming difficulties) Everyone needs water and water Everyone always Friendship, change of seasons and going strong and girls around the world needs women.
The ECDL is also a valuable resource for scholars and researchers studying the literature and use available to children in international technology.
In addition, all enjoy by the International Children's Digital Library resources offered, remember that you have a lot to offer your own local library and you can save money in the public library.
